Journeyman Service Electrician
Essential Duties
- Troubleshoot, repair, install, and maintain commercial and industrial electrical systems.
- Diagnose electrical problems using meters, test equipment, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Install and service electrical equipment, wiring, disconnects, panels, and related components.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
- Perform preventive maintenance and electrical repairs.
- Troubleshoot motors, starters, contactors, relays, and other electrical equipment.
- Complete service calls efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
- Communicate professionally with customers and facility personnel.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Follow applicable electrical codes, safety procedures, and company standards.
Education & Training
- High school diploma or equivalent, required
- Must hold a Journeyman license in the state of Arkansas
Skills & Experience
- Working knowledge of the NFPA 70 series, State, and local codes
- Commercial or industrial electrical experience
- Experience with industrial controls and PLCs is preferred but not required. Familiarity with the following is a plus:
- PLC troubleshooting
- Motor controls and VFDs
- Control panels
- Sensors and instrumentation
- Basic HMI systems
- Industrial automation
- Ability to:
- Understand, interpret and utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams, and schematics
- Locate and diagnoses electrical malfunctions using various test instruments
- Operate a variety of power tools, shop equipment, and electrical testing instruments
- A current valid driver’s license is required
