SUMMARY

Estimating projects and working within the organization to develop existing and establish new customers. Effectively monitor and manage acquired and assigned projects to ensure progress and profitability. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

1. Be MCC’s face to the customer by making appointments to visit customer facilities.

2. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers & vendors

3. Promote all MCC’s capabilities

4. Gain knowledge about upcoming projects

5. Address customer issues in an appropriate manner and in the best interests of MCC

6. Collect vital information that will assist MCC in gaining a competitive advantage

7. Prepare work for incoming bids to be estimated by gathering proposals, blueprints, specifications, and related documents that are personally acquired or as assigned by the Division Manager

8. Verify specifications and conditions to ensure each project is being performed as required by given specifications and drawings

9. Monitor job costs and cost to completion to ensure the managers assigned projects finish on budget and on time

10. Support the Divisional Manager, establishing an estimation of upcoming labor and equipment needs to alleviate labor issues

11. Maintain continuity among corporate, divisional, and supporting departments by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

12. Update all tracking logs that impact bids, projects, and proposals submitted

13. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

14. Mentor & develop junior employees

15. Operate heavy equipment and machinery in the performance of the essential duties

16. Drive a vehicle to various jobsites throughout working hours

a. Maintain valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company policy

17. Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner

18. Regular attendance and punctuality are essential for employee job performance

19. Perform other duties as assigned

ENVIRONMENT, PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

Exposure to varying indoor and outdoor conditions including but not limited to, loud noises, dust, slippery or uneven walking surfaces

Must be able to lift and/or carry/move up to 40lbs

Must be able to sit and/or stand for long periods of time

Must be able to perform repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and arms

May perform manual and repetitive tasks and body movements including bending, stooping, climbing, reaching, pulling, pushing, lifting, and carrying

Must be able to visit job sites and perform duties with and around hazardous and/or flammable materials, as well as monitor heavy equipment and machinery.

Must be able to complete job duties proficiently while adapting to changing demands and priorities

Must have the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time to perform duties in a safe manner

This position is subject to ergonomic testing

SAFETY SENSITIVE 

This position is designated as safety sensitive position because it requires the regular handling of highly sensitive and confidential Company and Client information. Performing this job in a discreet and professional manner requires alertness at all times. Any lapse of attention could have a significant financial impact on the Company and its Clients.  

Additionally, this position is designated as safety sensitive because it includes as part of the job duties operating a motor vehicle and working around heavy equipment and machinery. This position is one in which a lapse of attention could result in injury, illness, or death.  For the safety and health of yourself and other personnel, you must be able to work in a constant state of alertness and concentrate for long periods of time while driving and working around heavy equipment and machinery. 

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Must have High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

College degree and/or 5 years of practical MEP construction project knowledge preferred

Must possess good written and verbal communication skills

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)

Must have experience and working knowledge of how long it takes and what materials are required to accomplish specific tasks and to make MEP systems operational

Must have good decision making and problem solving capabilities

Must have intermediate math skills for billings, tracking, and forecasting project costs

Must have a good working knowledge of construction sequencing

Must be able to work in a team environment

Must have good organizational and time-management skills

Ability and willingness to work overtime and non-standard schedule: nights, weekends and holidays as/if required

A current valid driver’s license is required
